local police would even have the manpower to restrain Telus if they got out of hand considering the
sheer number of boots they had on the ground here.
The debris was most prevalent on the stretch of highway from their compound up to that “Welcome
to Powell River” monument near the dump. My guess is that the banners were falling off the
vehicles as they raced down the highway after leaving their yard. One day in March I saw this worn-
looking Ford sedan speeding up and down Joyce Avenue with Telus signs plastered all over it and I
wondered if maybe the driver had retrieved some of the errant signs from the ground and stuck them
on his car. Then I started wondering how much of the other trash on the ground might have come
from Telus too.
Now, I know that many people in Powell River won’t see anything wrong with this Telephone Pole
Army invasion that took place. For instance, I do understand that in terms of commerce the arrival
of a legion of non-residents in Powell River will do nothing but help the economy since all of those
soldiers will require food and accommodation during their stay. To the services industry they’re the
same as tourists. In fact, I’m sure all those workers were a much-appreciated miracle for the hotels,
restaurants and grocery stores in town. As well, Telus customers (current and future) might be
pleased that the company is taking measures to -- ostensibly -- upgrade its services in Powell River.
But I’m still wondering about what that Telus employee said to me; how he told me that it wasn’t
Telus doing the installations in town. Could it be that he was telling the truth and that it actually
wasn’t Telus doing the work? But who could it have been then?
Think about this for a second: the government sprays chemtrails on us almost every day without any
form of public disclosure about what they’re spraying on us. What that means is that the
government isn’t bound by ANY RESTRICTIONS WHATSOEVER when it comes to what they
can force us to breath, ingest and have injected into us. And another area where they aren’t bound
by any limitations is surveillance.
The government makes no bones about the fact that it wants to monitor us in many ways, especially
by gathering information about our electronic activities on the Internet and elsewhere. Remember
that frantic installation of Smart Meters on every home in the province? That operation looked
VERY similar to what Telus undertook in Powell River this year. And it’s common knowledge that
Smart Meters are being used to extract usage data from the appliances in your residence as part of
an international data collection network known as the Smart Grid. So who knows what other
information they’re sucking out of our homes -- and even out of our heads??? And this Telus
operation seemed to be bigger than the Smart Meter installations. I didn’t notice nearly as many BC
Hydro workers and vehicles or commotion for that job as there were for the Telus installation; the
BC Hydro crews were barely noticeable. In terms of professionalism, BC Hydro wins the contest
hands down.
So I’m thinking that maybe the Telus campaign was a government operation to set up an information
collection infrastructure on businesses and homes. That’s my, perhaps paranoid, supposition. But
I do feel I have justification for being paranoid.
Keep in mind that Telus is a company very closely associated with the BC government. In fact,
Telus is fully integrated into BC’s corrupt-as-hell justice system. When I was incarcerated in the
Vancouver region years ago the jail phone systems and security systems were operated by -- that’s
right -- Telus! As well, I’ve noted that my consultations with my doctor here in Powell River are
also monitored by Telus! The documentation I get from the medical clinic when I schedule an
appointment has Telus’s name on it. That Telus invasion is yet another very clear sign that the
government is following the lead of the gung ho United States in taking measures to move us into a
totalitarian Big Brother surveillance state like our neighbor to the south. Just what does the us in
Telus stand for anyway? Is it an acronym for United States? And keep in mind that the Telus
operation took place at the exact same time as the federal government proceeded with Bill C-51 to
give themselves amped-up powers to take preemptive actions against their adversaries. Moreover,
it’s known that cell phone companies are involved in passing along information about their
customers to the government. Maybe that’s why they call them telecoms, because they tell on their
customers!
And the Telus workers did come across as guilty as hell. Let me recount some extremely disturbing
activity I witnessed one day when all this Telus fuss was going on. It was Monday, February 16 and
I was riding my bike down Joyce Avenue when I happened to notice a cluster of Telus trucks
nestled up Massett Street, a residential side street to my right. Even though it didn’t look as if they
were actively working, the sidewalks to the right and the left were blocked by trucks, and crew
members were standing in the middle of the road. The street was totally inaccessible, although it
looked like you might have been able to drive down the middle of the street in a car if they allowed
you to pass. So I decided to take a picture of the scene. I stopped and pulled my camera out of
my bag and walked back up Joyce to Massett and snapped a couple of shots. And when I did
Telus had an instant, and quite shocking, reaction.
The first thing that happened was one of the male workers started walking directly towards me. I
thought for sure he was going to tell me to fuck off or hassle me in some way. He slowly
approached me and when he was right beside me I said “How’s it going?” at which point he walked
past me. He’d just been trying to intimidate me. I then noticed that there was a Telus truck parked
behind me on the other side of Joyce Avenue. I was totally surrounded by these guys! The worker
got into the truck and then a few of the other workers who’d been standing around immediately got
into their vehicles too. They started running like scared rats! They obviously didn’t want to be
photographed doing whatever it was they were doing, which didn’t look like much of anything at all
other than standing around gabbing. I then walked back to my bike to leave at which point one of
the workers yelled “YOU WANNA TAKE MY PICTURE?” as I got onto it. I didn’t say anything,
but my answer would’ve been “no I don’t” if I had responded. Then as I was riding along Joyce
Avenue I saw these Telus vehicles flying past me down the street as they fled the scene. Holy shit!
It looked like the automatic flight response of people caught in the act of doing something very
wrong! Why so scared Telus? The future’s friendly with Telus? Maybe so, but the present sure
isn’t.
The way I saw it, this mass installation campaign was a show of force. It was a drill like that Jade
Helm 15 military training exercise that’s taking place in the U.S. starting this very month. It was the
fallen BC government attempting to demonstrate it’s still in charge by pushing us around in various
ways as it tries to hold onto power. It also gave me the impression that Telus is a company in
financial trouble taking desperate measures to get some action going.
You may have read my criticisms about the news media in the past, how they’re the
communications arm of their partner, the lawyer-controlled government. Keep in mind that Telus is
a media company that delivers the Crown’s propaganda to the public through its TV and Internet
lines. It seems to me that Telus’s unusual behavior in PR is an excellent example of the disdain
some of these government/telecom conglomerates have for the public. They like showing muscle
and pushing our buttons.
The 2015 Telus invasion might have been meaningful to some people on some level, but to me it
only meant roadblocks, street obstructions, people staring at me when I rode my bike to and from
town, and lots of garbage to look at on the sides of the highway. Talk about a totally classless
operation.
