River City Q&A: Edward Brant

Chemtrail outrage!  Hassles with the cops!  Entrepreneuring it to the limit!  In this “River City Q&A” interview I speak with Edward Brant, a venerable face in Powell River.

One of the most striking things I discovered about Edward is how well known he is.  We did this interview in the Quality Foods restaurant and from the moment we met outside the store to walking through the establishment and eventually taking our seats in the dining room, people were saying hello to him every step of the way.  I was blown away by how many people recognized and greeted him.  It was as though I was with a celebrity.

A big concern for Edward is chemtrails, as they are for many people.  Considering the mass aerial spraying of chemicals taking place in Powell River, that shouldn’t surprise anyone.  Edward has quite a bit to say about them in this discussion.  He also talks about locking up the mentally ill, dealing with the police (including how they took his gun collection), the courthouse, the state of the world today and what he loves and hates about this glorious town.

Callum Houston:  Can I ask what age you are?

Edward Brant:  Yeah, I’m sixty-eight in January.

CH:  Where are you from originally?

EB:  Vancouver.

CH:  How did you end up in Powell River?

EB:  I just wanted to move out of Vancouver and see more of the province and I got an offer to move to Texada Island so I did.

CH:  When was that?

EB:  Well it was in the late ’60s.  I’ve been in Powell River ever since then.  What is it, forty-seven years?  Something like that, yeah.

CH:  If I was to ask you to define yourself as an individual how would you describe yourself?

EB:  Well, I was a pioneer farmer.  I homesteaded up here, raised my family in the late ’60s through the ’70s and continued on with the farming right until my retirement.

CH:  Is there a generational category you’d put yourself into?  Like a baby boomer or a hippy for instance?

EB:  Well I still say, yeah, well there’s the hippy.  Kinda frontline stuff with all the pot.

CH:  You were involved in that?

EB:  Oh yeah, we were involved, yeah.  We weren’t just involved in it, we were the ones that started it!

CH:  You’re retired now but what line of work were you in previously?

EB:  I was in automotive, body work.

CH:  And you mentioned you had a farm too.

EB:  Yeah, I was doing both and then ended up, 1970, just doing -- working on the farm, homesteading, doing work on cars and farming.  Delivering -- we had an egg delivery route and anything to make a buck.  Entrepreneuring it to the limit.

CH:  One thing I’ve noticed in Powell River is that a lot of people I’ve met here end up dying.  Have you noticed people dying as well?  You were telling me that a couple folks you knew died last week?

EB:  Yeah, I too have lost a lot of friends over the years.  I’ve had years where a hundred and fifty people disappeared or died on me for one reason or another.  Some of ’em move away, some of ’em abuse themselves; substance abuse -- alcoholism runs rampant here in this town.  My story nowadays is it’s good to be seen.

CH:  It’s my theory that it’s medical treatment that’s causing many of the deaths.  Have you seen that at all?

EB:  Yeah, I’ve seen it in cases.  I had a friend that was misdiagnosed and he died ’cause of it.  My last time I went to the hospital they used me as a guinea pig on some medication and caused internal bleeding.  And another friend that was given the wrong medication at the pharmacy and caused him serious problems, almost lost his life over it.  But I’m just grateful for having the good medical care that we do have in this town -- the hospital and especially the nurses.

CH:  Another thing I’ve discovered about Powell River is that a lot of people get locked up in the hospital under the accusation of being mentally ill.  They get committed to the psych ward.  Have you seen that?

EB:  Yeah, I’ve seen that happen.  Quite often, more than not it has to do with either alcoholism or drug abuse and there’s no other help for ’em.  It’s the doctor’s discretion.  The people that do get help are very grateful for that.  But yes, they do hold a lot of power.  Yeah, they hold quite a bit of power, it’s more than people realize.  Sometimes it’s the only way out.  It starts off as a caring part from the doctor and if someone doesn’t care along the lines then, yeah, it could get out of hand.  People get locked up for life, shipped away and locked up for life.  It can happen and I’ve seen it happen.

CH:  You’ve told me you see the chemtrails they’re spraying in the air over Powell River.

EB:  Yeah, I see ’em, yeah.

CH:  Do you have any theories about what they might be spraying on us and why they might be doing it?

EB:  Well they’re starting to get more and more publication about it and people are just now starting to be aware of it.  I’ve noticed it for a good fifteen years and it’s supposed to control the environment but in actuality they’re spraying us with aluminum, barium, mercury and whatever else, I don’t know.  It’s a scary apparition, the skies are not as blue as they used to be at times.  People say, “Well, partly cloudy” and I says, “Partly cloudy?  My ass!  It’s all chemtrails up there!  What are you talking about?”  I’ve had times in the evening where I’m looking at the sky and looking at the ground and thinking, The hell with it!  I’m going inside!  I’m not going to be subject to this!  And myself, I’m just trying to make people aware of it and working on what can be done about it to address it politically.  Our politicians are totally ignoring it.  It’s a real dicey subject but it’s an actual airborne assault on us.  I drink spring water; the particles running up on the ground, they poison the ground, they’re poisoning our water.  And what can we do about it?

CH:  When did you first notice the spraying in the sky?

EB:  Around 1986.

CH:  And it was here in Powell River?

EB:  Yeah.  It seems to have gotten more intensive.  I was asked at a coffee shop the other day, they were telling me about this, the California drought is attributed to it.  It’s actually poisoning the earth to the point where the vegetation and trees cannot absorb moisture anymore.  They’re creating their own drought.  And he says, “Well, why would they be doing that in Powell River?”  And my only explanation is that it’s chemical companies and they want to see us all sick.  The statistics on dementia is a hundred percent increase on dementia and it’s all about chemicals it seems like.  I think it’s so serious.  It’s way more serious than meets the eye right now.  We’re in a lot of trouble here, somebody’s got to do something about this.

CH:  So you think the chemtrail spraying might be to make us sick.  Do you think it’s an experiment of some kind or because they want to get people into the medical system?

EB:  It’s all chemicals you see.  My take on it is the powers that be that run the earth would like to depopulate us.  Depopulation.  It might go back to people -- what you were talking about -- disappearing, dying, premature deaths and stuff like that.

CH:  The chemtrails are just another way of getting rid of us.

EB:  Yeah and some of the things that are dangerous in the water supplies, in California for example, they don’t even test for anymore.  So the cover-up is immense; basically it’s huge, it’s absolutely immense, the cover-up.

CH:  They don’t talk about it on the news.

EB:  No, it’s never brought up in the news.

CH:  Why do you think that is?

EB:  Well, it’s a cover-up of some sort.  They control the news.  Uh, but people are somewhat aware of it.  I see that some of the artists are painting skies now with chemtrails in them at the university and I thought, That’s sending a message.  Yeah, for me, I go inside when it gets too intense out there or I think it’s too intense.  And I drink my own ancient spring water so I feel blessed that I have access to both and am aware of it.

CH:  I was talking to another person who’s aware of the high death rate in Powell River and he put forth the theory that perhaps something’s wrong with the tap water.  So maybe they’re trying to depopulate us in a variety of different ways: with the water, with the air, with bad medication, etc.

EB:  Well I would say that what would be important is, one of the things to get Powell River to be an attractive place to live, maybe the politicians and the mayor could think about something like making a quarantine in this area for aerial spraying.  Somebody’s got to take the first step.  I mean, I’ve seen the sky, actually a tinge of black in the sky now since this has started, even in the best blue day, look at it very closely.  They talk about it also interfering with solar panels.  They’re not picking up the rays they should to generate.  Some of the solar panel operations are down by ten, twenty percent.

CH:  It’s frustrating if you either love the sun or need the sun, like for solar panels or for growing crops for instance.  Sometimes I’ll be sitting on my porch on a clear day and I’ll watch the jets do line after line until the sky is totally white.  I hate it because I like the warmth from the sun.

EB:  Yeah of course.  The climate article that I read says it’s “Climate Engineering, Weather Warfare and the Collapse of Civilization.”  [Edward laughs.]  It’s a scary thought but we’re living it.  What’s next?  Birth control?  [Edward laughs.]  What’s next, you know?  I just wish that the powers that be would look into this.  And not just look into it but take some action right away.  It’s our airspace here.  I moved up into this country because I love the beauty of the nature here:  the ocean, the skies, the openness, the trees, all the beauty that Powell River offers us and now we’re being assaulted with an airborne assault with chemicals on a daily basis.  Mayor Formosa would you please step up to the plate and look into this and help us out?

CH:  What can they do though?  They can’t shoot the jets down.

EB:  Well that’s the thing about the old hippies is all -- just a threat that they would shoot with a potato gun fishing line, heavy gauge fishing line, into the chopper’s blade when they were raiding your pot plants in the bush -- the message got home, that would stop ’em just out of fear of being shot down.  I don’t know where it’s at nowadays but the search for plants grown in that manner has almost stopped now, new laws and that, legislation.  But there was, years ago there was, one of the countries was being invaded, the airspace was being invaded by another country and they lasered the pilots’ eyes out!  I don’t know where this is gonna go but someone’s gotta take heed, what’s going on here.

CH:  Did you want to say anything in conclusion about chemtrails?

EB:  Just to ask the powers that be to take your chemicals somewhere else, we’re not interested.
