many things the British Columbia government DOESN’T do for people in this province is protect
our private information. On the contrary, the government takes measures to compile and EXPLOIT
our private info. For instance, in one example of out-and-out information misuse by the Crown I
discovered that ICBC was distributing private data about an insurance policy I held with them to
crooked attorneys in a number of different locations in the province. And this same flouting of
privacy protocols has been demonstrated to me by banks who lined up to hand over every cent I
had in their vaults to thieving provincial and federal government agents.
And I was recently reminded about the BC government’s proclivity for disseminating confidential
information to third parties after a visit to my medical doctor.
A few months ago after a consultation with my practitioner I went to a pharmacy I’d never dealt with
before to purchase medication and I was extremely surprised to hear the pharmacist tell me that,
according to the information in her computer database, she knew that I’d taken the medication
before. It was at that moment that I came to the shocking realization that my medical information
isn’t private.
I later looked into it a little further and found out that the database the pharmacist was accessing is a
BC government network called PharmaNet which has a record of all medicine purchases. The
information you hand over to pharmacies when you buy meds goes into this database and it can be
accessed by ALL PHARMACIES EVERYWHERE! The info the government admits to keeping
about you includes your name, the drugs you’ve taken, your address and your date of birth.
However, the system likely also includes other information such as details about how you pay for
your medicine, through an insurance provider for instance.
If you think about it, this amounts to a vast dissemination of private info. For instance, there are at
least half a dozen pharmacies in Powell River alone and that means every one of them has access to
your data. As well, keep in mind that many pharmacies are part of larger businesses, like grocery
stores and department stores for instance (Safeway and Walmart come to mind immediately), so
that means that these retail stores, which in many cases are massive multinational chains, have access
to your personal information too.
And if distributing your info to pharmacies isn’t enough, the government also proclaims that it
distributes it to hospitals, the police, fire departments, doctors, nurses, a pharmacists’ college and a
doctors’ and surgeons’ college as well! Wow! Talk about overkill! And those are just the ones
they admit to! I think it’s safe to assume your info is probably distributed internationally to any
group that wants it and has the means to access it.
But hold on just a second here, is this right? It seems to me that this distribution of our personal
details is completely wrong, not only on a moral level, but on a legal level too. It’s obviously a
MASSIVE CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATION for our private data to be made available to so many
people on such a large scale. I did not consent to my private personal data being disclosed to
anyone outside of the one location where I show up to buy medication in a given instance. The
medicine I purchase is a private matter and it should stay private. It should not be distributed to the
entire government as well as to the medical and pharmaceutical industry so that anyone with access
to this PharmaNet system can do a search and uncover private background information about me.
This retention and distribution of customer data by the BC government regarding seemingly private
commercial transactions amounts to a conspiracy to ILLEGALLY MISUSE our confidential
information.
Another reason why it’s wrong is because there’s simply no purpose for pharmacies to have
personal information about you in order for you to purchase medication from them -- including
medication info! They just don’t need the information: all you’re doing is buying something from
them! They don’t require background information about you to sell something to you. When you
go to a pharmacy to get medication you’re simply going to a retailer to purchase goods from them
and nothing more. There’s no reason to make the transaction any more personal than the act of
buying a candy bar from a corner store. Imagine if when you went to purchase a Mars Bar from a
store they looked you up on a computer to see who you are and what candy bars you’ve purchased
in the past. That’d probably feel like a condescending violation of your privacy, right? Well, it’s no
different when purchasing meds. Giving pharmacies access to background information about
customers only serves to complicate medication purchases and introduce potential difficulties to the
transaction when there should be no possibility of difficulties whatsoever. It also gives some
pharmacists an inflated sense of importance and power over you when in fact they are not superior
to you at all. I mean really, all they’re doing is dispensing pills to you, so what’s the big fucking
deal?
But if there’s no legitimate reason for the Crown to be distributing our private medical information
all over the place, why the hell are they doing it? The reason is because it’s an act of oppressive
muscle-flexing on the part of the government which has implemented this human rights-infringing
system. The BC government is the Mafia. They are gangsters who hurt and exploit people and in
this case they’re exploiting medical patients by compiling their private information and distributing it
on a widespread basis. The government knows damn well that people innately value their privacy
and by violating our privacy on a mass level like this they’re giving us a big shove, like a bully
shoving his victim in the schoolyard. The government is led by narcissistic control freaks obsessed
with dominating everything and they’ve found that by selling things to us, such as car insurance and
medical treatment, it gives them a way of gathering information about us that they can use to further
control and harass us without being constricted by any legal boundaries whatsoever.
The other reason the government is compiling our private data is because they’re likely making a lot
of money at it. Everyone knows that the selling of customer behavior profiles is a profitable
business and the info the BC government is collecting from us regarding our health is probably
extremely valuable for resale on demographic data markets. The BC government’s main motivator
in all circumstances is power and money -- why would this PharmaNet operation be any different?
And if this PharmaNet scheme is any example, you can be sure Big Brother’s got microphones and
cameras recording your consultations with your doctor with that data too being transmitted to some
central database somewhere. When you consider that government authorities are using all kinds of
different means of amassing information from and about us, including using invasive electronic
mind-reading weapons, you can clearly see that the realm of privacy, in all its many forms, is another
front on which the government is waging a war against us. Later on in this series about the medical
scene in PR I’m going to recount a bad experience I had at a pharmacy which was a direct result of
the pharmacy having background information about me.
Now I want to talk about people I know who’ve suddenly died and what I think the reason is. I
mentioned previously that my friend Dave, the Vietnam vet who began struggling with a number of
ailments since I met him in the Signature Cafe coffee shop in Safeway, passed away, supposedly
from liver cancer. Dave is yet another person to add to the growing list of people I’ve met in Powell
River who’ve just vanished. My own father was the first person I saw just disappear and there
have been a few others since then. It’s my observation that it’s medical treatment and the
medication being given to these people that’s killing them.
As I’ve mentioned before, my dad left his Powell River home in 2006 in relatively good health for
treatment of some variety at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver (or so I was led to believe), treatment
facilitated via consultations with a Powell River doctor, and he was pronounced dead a few days
later.
There are a few things about St. Paul’s Hospital that make it stand out as an exceedingly strange
hospital. For one thing, the BC government administers it as a Catholic hospital. That’s right,
Catholic! What a joke! The company they retain to manage the hospital, Providence Health Care,
explicitly states that the care they provide is based on the principles of Catholicism. I must say, I
find it totally baffling that in this day and age ANY government institution -- especially a hospital! --
would be operated by a religious organization. And especially by Catholics! Hey, I’ve got nothing
against Catholics, but applying the Catholic faith to medical treatment (!) is as crazy as it gets
considering the unscientific codes and irrational dogma that ancient religion adheres to. Shouldn’t
they be operating pursuant to the principles of medical science? Another troubling aspect is the fact
that, as we know, the Catholic religion is headquartered out of Italy, a country notorious for the
Mafia.
Something else that’s suspicious about that hospital is how the Vancouver news media and the
government promote it as though it’s some kind of a holy shrine far superior to all other hospitals.
The way they single it out for praise above all other medical institutions makes you think it’s the only
hospital in the province. However, their excessive adulation just gives the impression that they’re
covering up for a facility that is very, very guilty of something. This would appear to be another
instance of the news media providing the government’s defense when they’re guilty of wrongdoing.
But getting back to my dad’s demise, I was informed a week or so after he left Powell River that
he’d died in the hospital after having an operation. I must admit, this news wasn’t entirely
unexpected. I’d had an intuitive suspicion that my dad had been marked for death when he left for
Vancouver, thus his execution in the custody of the BC government wasn’t a huge surprise to me.
The government was just going totally berserk on me and my family at that time in a number of
ways, all relating to money and much of it originating from Vancouver, so having something
nefarious happen to him in a government hospital in Van fit their pattern of malice to a T.
Making it even more obvious he was a victim of a deadly conspiracy, four days after my father’s
death the Vancouver Registry of the BC Supreme Court paid off my sister (who’d arranged for my
father to be at St. Paul’s) with a totally haywire judgment that awarded her hundreds of thousands of
dollars! The mob has its slimy tentacles in many different areas of government in BC, including in
hospitals too it appears.
And that brings me to yet another weird thing I learned about St. Paul’s, and this isn’t just weird, it’s
fucking ghastly. I was absolutely horrified to hear that after my father died they actually removed his
eyes from his head. Yes, they took his eyeballs out of his skull! When I heard this I was utterly
mortified, not to mention hurt, which I’m sure was the intended purpose of such a macabre deed.
How could anything so horrid be done to my dad??? Processing the loss of a parent is bad enough
without being told he’d been physically mutilated as well! This is something SAVAGES would do
to their slain enemies. Or the Mafia would do to their foes. It just came across as mercilessly
vindictive, not to mention EVIL. It seemed like some kind of Satanic ritual. I’m telling you, the
people in government in this province are superstitious devil worshipers not morally fit to govern a
sandbox let alone a fucking province!
It’s also occurred to me that organ harvesting might’ve been another incentive on the hospital’s
part for killing my dad. It’s quite possible that organs are a very valuable commodity for those
“important” people in need of them. Whatever the reason, that hospital was just another dark
government force in Vancouver going against us along with several other dark government forces.
That’s all on this topic for now but I’ll continue my look at strange things I’ve seen and heard going
on in the medical system in Powell River next month.
